Co-hosted by the Detroit Civic Commons Team and Detroit Experience Factory, this Civic Commons Learning Journey gave participants the opportunity to immerse themselves in the public places and programs of Detroit that are most representative of socioeconomic mixing in practice. Exploring the city by bike and on foot, participants conversed with local leaders behind the Dequindre Cut, Eastern Market, the Detroit Riverfront, Slow Roll and Clark Park, along with the work underway in the Fitzgerald neighborhood, all while absorbing lessons about the design, programming, communication and engagement practices that have created experiences for all and places where everyone belongs.
